2023 szeptember\u00e9t\u0151l Jamrisk\u00f3 Tam\u00e1s kommunik\u00e1ci\u00f3s szakember, egyetemi oktat\u00f3 veszi \u00e1t a F\u00fcggetlen M\u00e9diak\u00f6zpont vezet\u00e9s\u00e9t Orb\u00e1n S\u00e1ndort\u00f3l, aki tov\u00e1bbra is az alap\u00edtv\u00e1ny kurat\u00f3riumi tagja marad \u00e9s seg\u00edti az \u00faj igazgat\u00f3 munk\u00e1j\u00e1t. \/ As of September 2023 communication expert and journalism educator Tam\u00e1s Jamrisk\u00f3 becomes the managing director of the Center for Independent Journalism (Budapest). He is replacing S\u00e1ndor Orb\u00e1n who remains on the Center\u2019s executive board and keeps getting involved in the implementation of project activities.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Az ut\u00f3bbi \u00e9vekben Jamrisk\u00f3 Tam\u00e1s az Els\u0151 Pesti Egyetemi R\u00e1di\u00f3 (EPER) f\u0151szerkeszt\u0151jek\u00e9nt t\u00f6bb projektben is egy\u00fcttm\u0171k\u00f6d\u00f6tt a M\u00e9diak\u00f6zponttal.\/ In recent years Mr. Jamrisk\u00f3 has been the editor-in-chief of the community youth radio station, called EPER, and closely cooperated with CIJ.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A k\u00f6vetkez\u0151 \u00e9vekben olyan szervezetet szeretn\u00e9k vezetni, amely tov\u00e1bbra is t\u00e1mogatja a m\u00e9diaoktat\u00e1st, lehet\u0151s\u00e9get ad az \u00fajabb nemzed\u00e9keknek a legkorszer\u0171bb szakmai ismeretek megszerz\u00e9s\u00e9re \u00e9s hozz\u00e1j\u00e1rul ahhoz, hogy a k\u00f6zv\u00e9lem\u00e9ny megb\u00edzhat\u00f3 forr\u00e1sokb\u00f3l t\u00e1j\u00e9koz\u00f3dhasson a magyar t\u00e1rsadalomr\u00f3l \u00e9s a vil\u00e1gr\u00f3l. A F\u00fcggetlen M\u00e9diak\u00f6zpontot 1995 nyar\u00e1n hozta l\u00e9tre James L. Greenfield, a New York Times veter\u00e1n \u00fajs\u00e1g\u00edr\u00f3ja, az Independent Journalism Foundation eln\u00f6ke. Orb\u00e1n S\u00e1ndor a kezdetekt\u0151l r\u00e9szt vett a munk\u00e1ban el\u0151sz\u00f6r igazgat\u00f3helyettesk\u00e9nt, majd k\u00e9t ciklusban \u2013 1997-2005 \u00e9s 2018-2023 k\u00f6z\u00f6tt \u2013 igazgat\u00f3k\u00e9nt. K\u00f6zben t\u00f6bb \u00e9ven \u00e1t a d\u00e9lkelet- \u00e9s k\u00f6z\u00e9p-eur\u00f3pai m\u00e9diafejleszt\u00e9si civilszervezetek region\u00e1lis h\u00e1l\u00f3zat\u00e1t (seenpm.org<\/a>) vezette, amelynek a budapesti M\u00e9diak\u00f6zpont is alap\u00edt\u00f3 tagja.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201eA 90-es \u00e9vekben, a rendszerv\u00e1lt\u00e1st k\u00f6vet\u0151en t\u00e1mogat\u00f3 k\u00f6rnyezetben kezdt\u00fck a munk\u00e1t, akkor alapvet\u0151en ingyenes szakmai k\u00e9pz\u00e9seket tartottunk, hogy ezzel er\u0151s\u00edts\u00fck a t\u00e9nyeken alapul\u00f3 etikus \u00fajs\u00e1g\u00edr\u00e1st. Mi szervezt\u00fck \u00e9veken \u00e1t a BBC hazai tanfolyamait, neves magyar \u00e9s amerikai szakemberekkel tartottunk konzult\u00e1ci\u00f3kat helyi r\u00e1di\u00f3s \u00e9s telev\u00edzi\u00f3s \u00fajs\u00e1g\u00edr\u00f3k sz\u00e1m\u00e1ra \u00e9s a M\u00e9diak\u00f6zpont ir\u00e1ny\u00edt\u00e1s\u00e1val egy \u00e9vtizeden \u00e1t sikeresen zajlott a roma m\u00e9diagyakornoki program\u201d \u2013 eml\u00e9kezik vissza a kezdeti id\u0151szakra a lek\u00f6sz\u00f6n\u0151 igazgat\u00f3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201eUgyanakkor az elm\u00falt t\u00edz \u00e9vben l\u00e9nyegesen megnehez\u00fclt a f\u00fcggetlen szerkeszt\u0151s\u00e9gek helyzete Magyarorsz\u00e1gon. Egyidej\u0171leg \u2013 a technol\u00f3giai fejl\u0151d\u00e9s \u00e9s az \u00fczleti modell v\u00e1ltoz\u00e1sai k\u00f6vetkezt\u00e9ben \u2013 teljesen \u00e1talakult a m\u00e9dia. \u00cdgy a M\u00e9diak\u00f6zpont priorit\u00e1sai is megv\u00e1ltoztak, el\u0151t\u00e9rbe ker\u00fclt az oknyomoz\u00f3 \u00fajs\u00e1g\u00edr\u00e1s t\u00e1mogat\u00e1sa, a m\u00e9diatudatoss\u00e1g \u00e9s a digit\u00e1lis biztons\u00e1g er\u0151s\u00edt\u00e9se, valamint a f\u00e9lret\u00e1j\u00e9koztat\u00e1s elleni fell\u00e9p\u00e9s. A mostani igazgat\u00f3v\u00e1lt\u00e1s is jelzi, hogy elengedhetetlen a folyamatos tartalmi meg\u00fajul\u00e1s \u00e9s a k\u00f6z\u00f6s munka az \u00fajs\u00e1g\u00edr\u00f3k fiatalabb nemzed\u00e9k\u00e9vel\u201d \u2013 tette hozz\u00e1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Change of Guard at CIJ<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of September 2023 communication expert and journalism educator <\/em>Tam\u00e1s Jamrisk\u00f3 becomes the managing director of the Center for Independent Journalism (Budapest). He is replacing S\u00e1ndor Orb\u00e1n who remains on the Center\u2019s executive board and keeps getting involved in the implementation of project activities. In recent years Mr. Jamrisk\u00f3 has been the editor-in-chief of the community youth radio station, called EPER, and closely cooperated with CIJ.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Over the last three decades CIJ has made significant contributions to the professionalization of independent media in Hungary\u2019 \u2013 emphasized the newly appointed director. \u2018In the years to come I seek to run an organization which continues to support media education and provides further opportunities to the upcoming generations of journalists to enhance their professional skills. At the same time, it is crucial to ensure for the general audience to have the chance to get informed about the developments in Hungary and abroad from reliable sources\u2019 \u2013 he added.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CIJ was established in 1995 by James L. Greenfield, president of the US-based Independent Journalism Foundation and a veteran journalist of the New York Times. Mr. Orb\u00e1n has participated in the activities of the Center since the very beginning, first as deputy director, then director in two terms (1997-2005 and 2018-2023). In between he was the executive director of the South East European Network for Professionalization of Media, a regional association of non-for-profit organizations co-founded by CIJ.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018In the mid-nineties we embarked on our activities to promote fact-based ethical reporting in an extremely supportive environment. We hosted the intensive television and radio training courses of the BBC, offered free-of-charge consultations to local media outlets with the involvement of the best Hungarian and US experts, and successfully managed the unique Roma mainstream media internship program for over a decade\u2019 \u2013 recalled the leaving Center director.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018In the last decade, however, the situation of independent media has significantly deteriorated in Hungary. At the same time, due to major transformations affecting media technology and the business model, the industry has <\/em>fundamentally been altered. Our priorities had to be adjusted, as well, in line with the changing needs of the independent media community.  Thus, in recent years we have been focusing on the support of investigative reporting, the strengthening of media literacy and digital security skills, and the countering of disinformation. The change in CIJ\u2019s management indicates that renewal and the cooperation with the younger generation of journalists are pivotal for the continuous successful operation of the Center\u2019 \u2013 he concluded.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
